Age of Driving in Australia?

I am 18 and my boyfriend is 19, we are going to Australia for a working holiday in July. We both have drivers licences in th UK, will this be ok to drive in Australia.

If you’re spending longer in Australia you should bring along an international driving permit or apply for an Australian driver’s licence.

Seems to me that you should be ok if you are considering getting your own car!
