Darwin is the capital of Northern Australia, seeping diversity and vibrancy amongst the small population. It is a resilient city, and famed by its historical significance having survived the bombings of World War II when the city came under severe attack from the Japanese Air force and the tropical twisters that struck in 1897 and 1974. These colossal cyclones and treacherous thunderstorms have exposed Darwin on several occasions and add to the fascinating tales of times passed.
Darwin boats a vast array of multicultural eating places and nightlife, greatly influenced by its Northern neighbor: Asia. With its lush landscape and tropical atmosphere beaming through, Darwin is an enticing city to visit and is currently home to the biggest inhabitants of native Australians and a big hit with visitors from all over the world. With outdoor spots to suit everyone, from markets, restaurants, pubs and festivals and natural wonders on the doorstep with Kakadu, Litchfield and Tiwis, makes Darwin a popular destination.
