australia zoo

The Sunshine Coast is home to the legendary Australia Zoo. Founded by Bob and Lyn Irwin in 1970, and since taken over by the late Steve Irwin in 1991, known to many around the world for his daredevil antics with wild crocodiles and snakes. Renowned for their love of ‘misunderstood and feared’ animals, the Irwin family continue in Steve’s legacy, sharing his passion for the zoo, so we can all ‘share and learn about the world’s wildlife’. If you are visiting Brisbane in November, be sure to visit the zoo on Steve Irwin Day, November 15th for a day of family frolics, wildlife, conservation and fun.

Australia Zoo has a staggering 1000 animals, from the mind blowing Komodo Dragons, wonderful elephants to the famed crocodiles with the exclusive display of croc feeding live in the park. So spend your day meandering through the beautiful gardens, maybe have a picnic or spot of lunch whilst marvelling at the diverse animals ...what better way to spend your time in Brisbane.
