Hobart Hostels

Nestled alongside the Derwent River, Hobart is small but beautifully situated. There is plenty of accommodation and an increasing number of hostels for most of the year. During the summer seasons and around the time of the Sydney - Hobart boat race (December to end of January) prices can shoot up and places are hard to find.

 The Central City Backpackers

One of Hobart's best hostels, the Central city backpackers is in the spacious quarters of a once grand hotel. The hostel has a friendly reception crew and great atmosphere, a well set up kitchen, pleasant dining area, TV, games room and bike rental.

 The Pickled Frog Backpackers

Centrally located, this pub turned hostel offers all you need for a great stay in Hobart Young staff keep this hostel lively and sociable. Downstairs in the hostel is a fantastic, extensive communal area: within its several rooms is a huge industrial kitchen, a bar selling cheap meals and beers, comfortable sofas and a pool table.
